Graveside funeral service for Vincent Wallace, 88, of Apache, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Deyo Mission Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Haselton will officiate.
Vincent passed away on October 3, 2018 with his family by his side.
Viewing will be on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home from 1 to 7 p.m.
Viewing on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 will be at the Deyo Mission Church from 9 to 11 a.m.
Vincent was born on July 11, 1930 in Faxon, OK to George and Margaret (Cheevers) Wallace. He went to the Ft. Sill Indian School. Upon completing his schooling he entered the United States Navy in September of 1950 and was discharged in June of 1954. In September of 1956 he joined the United Stated Marine Corp and was discharged in September of 1959. He attended Bacone College in Muskogee, OK; he then transferred to OSU in Stillwater, OK. He earned his bachelor’s degree in forestry from OSU. He worked for the United States Forestry Service for many years. He worked in California and New Mexico. He married the love of his life, Camille Poemoceah On May 26, 1952 in Wichita Falls, TX.
He is survived by his two sons: Edward and Desmond Wallace of Apache, OK. He also leaves behinds numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Camille, and his brothers: George Wallace Jr., Robert Wallace, and Rafey Wallace-Youniacutt Sr. His sisters: Rubye Wallace and Jewell Niedo.
