Memorial service for W. Ladean "Deanie" Kunze, 88, of Tenaha, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel of Peace Mausoleum with Rev. Terry Goodnight, pastor of the Lone Star Baptist Church in Center, Texas officiating. 

Mrs. Kunze passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 in Center, Texas. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m  until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 and 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the funeral home.  

Ladean was born on November 1, 1929 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Oliver and Winnie Bethel (Griggs) Gee. She grew up in the Broxton area where she attended school, graduating in 1947. She married Lawrence Kunze on November 1, 1947 and they farmed the Broxton area for awhile. Lawrence began working in the oil fields and they lived in many locations including Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Texas, and Oklahoma. They then lived in Apache, Oklahoma from 1957 until 1965 and in  Lawton from 1965 until 1977. They later moved to Benton, Louisiana where they lived from 1978 until 1997 when they moved to Tenaha, Texas. Ladean received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate and worked in many of the locations where they lived including the Floor Nurse at Anadarko Hospital, ER Nurse at Comanche County Memorial Hospital and OBGYN Nurse at Reynolds Army Community Hospital. She was also a Private Care Nurse and cared for Mrs. Louise McMahon in her final years. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary and Lawrence was a member of the Gideons, and they helped establish many churches including the Indian Mission in Apache, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Center, Texas. 

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Jane and Rick Thompson, of Tenaha, Texas and Judy and Lloyd Wiggins, of Duncan, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ottie Beth Tucker and Joanna Kaye; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Danny Wiggins (Joeann), Terry Goodnight (Shanna), David Wiggins (Angela), Michael Goodnight, Joshua Goodnight (Mandy), Traci Fread (Chris), and Angie Rhodes (James); 11 great grandchildren, Michael Wiggins, Brandon Wiggins, Travis Wiggins, Matthew Wiggins, Hunter Wiggins, Kady Wiggins, Olivia Goodnight, Cameron Fread, Katelynn Fread, Madison Fread, and Tripp Rhodes; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence, who passed away on October 21, 2013; her sister, Geraldine Wheeler; and two brothers, Thomas Felton Gee and Kenneth M. Gee.
