Wanda Lee Potter

Funeral service for former Lawton resident, Wanda Lee Potter, 77 of Moore, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Grubbs of Trinity Assembly of God officiating. 

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Potter passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Wanda was born on March 8, 1940 in Milton, Oklahoma to John Henry and Vikla (Yates) Shatswell. She grew up in the Dustin, Wetumka, Milton area where she attended school. She married and had children before moving to Lawton in 1967. She married Gary Potter on December 23, 1978 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  Mr. Potter passed away on May 8, 2011.  She moved to Moore in 2014 to be near her daughter. Wanda was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, and shopping, always looking for that great bargain. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life and she was very family oriented. She loved big family gatherings at holidays and was known for her pumpkin and pecan pies. Wanda was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God.    

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sturm of Moore, OK; her son, Gary Waddel, of Lawton, OK; her brothers, John Shatswell, Ada, OK, Troy Shatswell, Moore, OK, Ronald Shatswell, Lawton, OK, and Buddy Wayne Shatswell, of Sayre, OK; her sister, Hazel Poppino, Tulsa, Ok; her former daughter in law, Patti Waddel; five grandchildren, Daniela Darrow  and husband, Martin, Damon Solomon, Dustin Waddel, Russell Solomon, and Andrew Waddel  and wife, Talina; and 11 great grandchildren.  

She is preceded  in death by her parents, and her husband, Gary Potter; her daughter, Debra Solomon; brothers, Harvey Shatswell and Arly Wayne Shatswell; and two sisters, Vondell Dunagan and Imogene Gibson.
