William Dunson, Jr.

Funeral mass for William Dunson Jr., 71 of Lawton will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church with  Rev. Philip Seeton, pastor officiating. 

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.

Mr. Dunson passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 in Lawton.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

William was born on September 15, 1949 in Concord, Massachusetts to William O. Dunson, Sr, and Goldie Eleanor (King) Dunson. He grew up in LaPuente, California where he attended school. He joined the United States Army at the age of 17. He was married to Patricia Dunson for 35 years and they lived in Fontana, California where they started their family. He worked as an Entrepreneur for many businesses. William enjoyed camping, fishing, and gold mining and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Sheryl and Scott Hammonds, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his sons and daughters in law, William O. Dunson, III and Summer Dunson, of San Bernardino, California; Teddy and Dawn Dunson, of Oklahoma, Samuel and Kristina Dunson, of Hesperia, California, and Paul Dunson, of Lawton, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Clark and Michael Dunson; and two sisters, Sally Hadley and Michelle Dunson.
