William "Bill" R. Young

Word has been received of the death of William R. "Bill" Young, 72 of Lawton. 

Mr. Young passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at a Wichita Falls hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

A private family service will be held at a later date.    

Bill was born on December 27, 1945, in Orange, CA to Roy Allen and Nina Rita (Williams) Young.  Bill graduated from Midwest City High School in 1966. Shortly after graduating he began working for Blakley Pools in Oklahoma City. The company relocated to Lawton and Bill followed.  For a short time in the early '80's, he formed his own pool company (Young Pools) in Duncan OK. He then returned to Blakley Pools where he was employed for over 40 years.  He knew everything about pools, spas and their equipment. Bill and Linda were married June 5, 1970 in Lawton, OK.  

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and everything OU sports related.

He was a kindhearted  man who put everyone before himself. He was a loving husband and wonderful father to his children.  

Bill is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Linda, of the home; his son, John Young, of Lawton; his sisters, Sherry Hays of Nashville, TN and Vicki Jennings of Midwest City; his aunt, Edith; numerous nieces and nephews and lastly, his dog, Chewy. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Traci Michelle Young.
