Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
At the age of 91, Elnora Wooten entered into sweet rest on April 19, 2017, in Buena Park, California - joining her beloved husband, Earl Wooten, Jr.
The seventh of thirteen children, Elnora was born on May 31, 1925, in Clarksville, Texas.  She was a proud housekeeper for multiple Lawton families who considered her their mother.  Elnora loved to garden and kept an immaculate lawn with colorful flowers.  Her house was the community meeting place for conversations on the porch and sharing indelible home cooked meals.
Elnora loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Elmo Baptist Church, where she served as Head Usher for 50-years.  In 2004, she joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church and continued God’s work by greeting flocks into His house.  In 2012 and due to failing health reasons, Elnora relocated to California to live with her daughters.
Elnora diligently served on the Lawton Community Usher Board for several years, was an active member of the Lawton View Neighborhood Watch Association, the NAACP, the YMCA and the Local Housing Authority.  In 1995, Elnora received a Proclamation Certificate from the Mayor of Lawton and the Key to the City.
Elnora and Earl taught their children the importance of education, family values and keeping God first.  Her children loved to hear their mother talk to the Lord; albeit saying grace at meals or praying on her knees morning and night. Elnora led by example.  She was known for bringing joy and inspiration to those around her by sharing her wisdom and contagious smile.  She dedicated her time and commitment to the church, young people, and various organizations in the community.  In addition,  she loved to shop.
Elnora is survived by her children:  Ruby Favors (Arlander), Janice Oliver, Robert Wooten (Gwen) and Joyce Stagg (Pat).  Their legacy extends to five grand-children who  called her “Granny” - Kim McKenzie, Shawna Chatman, Robert DeWayne Wooten, Robin Campbell and Jimmy Oliver III, along with six great grand-children:  Iman Chatman, Jessie Campbell III, Micah McKenzie, Robert Sidney Wooten, Savannah Oliver and Madison Oliver.  She also leaves one sister, Oleta Hurd and a host of other family members, including nieces, nephews and close friends, whom she considered her extended family.
Elnora Wooten was a steadfast Christian, a loyal friend, a devoted wife and an exceptional mother whose memory and influence will live forever in their hearts.
