Funeral Service for Ronald E. Stanley, 73, of Lawton, OK will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lawton, Reverend Helgeson will officiate.

Inurnment will follow at the Flower Mound Cemetery

Ron passed away with family at his bedside in a Lawton hospital on October 20, 2017.

Ron was born on April 5, 1944 in Wahaiwa, HI to Henry and Ruth Stanley. He was the youngest of four children. He continued to live in Hawaii until he joined the Army on June 21, 1961. He was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, Germany, a tour in Vietnam, and Tulsa, OK. He retired from active duty as a Master Sergeant at Ft. Sill on May 31,1983. While on active duty, Ron was awarded various medals to include: The Army Good Conduct, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Award. Shortly after retirement, he began serving the military again as a civil service employee. He retired on April 30, 2005 as Chief of Training at DPTM. During his civil service employment he was awarded the Commanders Award for Civil Service. After retirement, he enjoyed days at the golf course, trips to Wayne’s, and several hours at the casino. In his retirement he became President of the Fort Sill Men’s Golf Association, LHS Booster Club President, and member of the Lawton Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of 31 years, and children: Ronald Jr. and wife Carol of Nashville, TN, David of Lawton, OK, Lisa Nichols and husband Todd of Old Hickory, TN, Brian and wife Wendy of League City, TX, and Kari Meyer and husband Chad of Lawton, OK, and Tammy Stanley of Lawton, OK. His life was further blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, Henry and Ruth, his brothers Robert and Richard, and his sister Patty.
