James M Fullerton

Word has been received of the death of James M. Fullerton, 82, of Lawton.

Mr. Fullerton passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

No services are planned at this time.

James was born on June 19, 1935 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Judge John P. and Lorna (Mason) Fullerton. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1953. He received his Associate's Degree in Business from Cameron College in 1955, and his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Oklahoma University in 1959. He then received his Doctorate in Justice in 1967 from Oklahoma University. James practiced law in Norman for 25 years and after retiring as an attorney, he returned to Lawton and worked for Affiliated Transportation in the Human Resources Department from 1992 until 2001. in the Human Resources Department. He worked at Goodwill Industries as an administrative assistant in the HR department. He also served in the Army reserves for 14 years. James was a member of united methodist churches where he served on several committees. He also was involved with the Senior Center of Creative Living, Silver Hair Legislative Committee, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Senior Activities Club.  

He is survived by his cousin, Dr. Mike Fullerton, of Pryor, Oklahoma; his niece, Liese Martin, of Lawton, Oklahoma; and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parent; his brother, Dan Fullerton; and his sister, Julia Fullerton Bell.
