Graveside service for former Lawton resident, Willie Mae Oliver, 77, of Dallas, Texas will be at 11A.M. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Ms. Oliver passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Willie was born on July 31, 1940 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to John and Lottie (Walker) Oliver. She grew up in Orangeburg where she attended school. After graduating from Wilkinson High School in 1959, Willie attended cosmetology school and became a licensed cosmetologist. She married Hurley Jackson on June 11, 1960 in Orangeburg, and being a military family they moved to North Carolina, returning to Orangeburg, and then to Germany for three years until settling in the Lawton/Fort Sill area in 1966. Willie was a Teacher's Assistant with Lawton Public Schools for 25 years. She was a member of the Sullivan Village Church of Christ in Lawton. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 2007 to be near her daughters and was a member of the Whispering Hills Church of Christ in Duncanville, TX.  She taught bible class and enjoyed visiting children in elementary school.  She loved to play the piano, work in her garden, and share God's Word with others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Borryton Oliver and James Oliver; and two sisters, Pearl Shivers and Lottie Mae Nell.         

She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law; Sanford Jackson, of Oklahoma City, OK; Alan and Keisha Jackson, of Oklahoma City, OK; Edwin Jackson, of Missouri; and Bruce and Regina Jackson, of Richlands, North Carolina; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Patrick Brager, of Dallas, TX, and Joyce and Julio Gutierrez, of Dallas, TX; her brother, Arthur Oliver, Sr. of Brooklyn, New York; her sister, Carolyn Robinson, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren:  Cassidy Jackson, Ricqui Brager, Ricquel Brager, Jessica Jackson, Tanner Jackson, Jarek Howell, Zachary Howell, Kristen Brady, Alora Prokay, and Gary Prokay; five great grandchildren: Kayla, Marissa, Jacob, Riley, and Caleb; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
