Dennis Jay Elkins

A celebration of life and sharing of memories for Dennis Jay Elkins, 57, of Lawton will be on Thursday, February 23, 2017 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at CG's International Cuisine at 3160 NW Cache Road, Lawton, Oklahoma.  

Mr. Elkins passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Dennis was born on September 5, 1959 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Gerald Lee and Bertie Mae (Richardson) Elkins. The family came to Lawton when he was three years old. Dennis attended school in Lawton, graduating from Eisenhower High School. Admiring the countryside, he was a truck driver for many years and later worked for Great Plains Technology Center. Dennis considered his co-workers a loving part of his family. He was a generous and selfless person who would do anything for anyone. He loved to be in the company of friends and family. He loved the great outdoors and being out in nature. Dennis was an avid follower of Wheel of Fortune and a fan of Vanna White. 

He is survived by his son, Jason Allen Elkins and Savannah Branson, of Greensboro, NC; his daughter, Tina M. Elkins and Carlos Nunez, of Amarillo, TX; brother and sister in law, Gerald Lee and Debbie Elkins, of Yukon, OK; two sisters and a brother in law, Jerlyn Sue Elkins, and Deanna and Ernest McAllister, all of Lawton, OK; five grandchildren, Tianna, Royal, Ramona, Ja'Carah, and Jason; five nieces; three nephews; and a host of loving friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Elkins.
