Vivian Brown

Funeral service for Vivian Marie Brown, 61 of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Grace Fellowship Church, Lawton, Oklahoma with Mark Hill officiating. 

Mrs. Brown passed away on February 15th, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Vivian was born in Goodwater, Alabama on January 18th, 1956 to Morrell and Emma (McCore) McKinney. She graduated from Sylacauga High School and then began work as a housekeeper before finding her true passion and started her long career in the nursing field.  She married SSG Carvin Brown in 1983 and together they made one final relocation to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1991 where she lived, loved, and quietly retired with her husband.  Vivian will always be remembered for her generosity to others, commitment to family values, and her unwavering love for our Lord and Savior.   

She is survived by her husband, Carvin Brown, Sr., of the home; her daughter, Lelani McKinney, of Lawton; four sons and two daughters in law, Chris and Yasonda McKinney, of Columbus, Georgia, Bakari McKinney, of Lawton, Carvin Brown, Jr. and Kasinda Brown, of Lawton, and Jon Brown, of Lawton; her brother and sister in law, Danny and Harriet McKinney, of Sylacauga, AL; her sister and brother in law, Teresa and Darrell Gilder, of Lawton; four grandchildren, Darian McKinney and his wife, Desiree, Alexis McKinney, Braidin Kent, and Kyden Kent; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael McKinney.
